Lucia & Valdemar Flamenco were the first flamenco artists to perform at Mi Luna Tapas restaurant when it opened in 1998. They are back on Wednesday from 7- 9:30pm with a flamenco 'Trio' and offering their signature sound of exciting cante (song), flamenco guitar and dance. Dancer this week is Janet Meza.

Featuring the first of the trilogy 'Blood Wedding' or Bodas de Sangre, 1981 (71 min.) Directed by Carlos Saura in collaboration with choreographer Antonio Gades. Dazzling camera shots and edited dress rehearsal for the 'Antonio Gades Ballet Co.' Featuring dancers Cristina Hoyos, Laura del Sol and Antonio Gades. Based on the classic writings of Federico Garcia Lorca.

Carmen - 1983 (101 min.) - Carlos Saura's Oscar nominated tribute to the original Carmen story. The movie casts Antonio Gades as the choreographer who falls for the gorgeous mystery woman he has discovered for his new production. 

Open bar + Brasil Cafe will prepare sangria and tapas for this event. Movie is free, drinks and food can be purchased through Brasil Cafe.

The last of the flamenco film trilogy by director Carlos Saura and dancer, Antonio Gades. El Amor Brujo or Love the Magician 1986 (103 min.) - features the beautiful score by Manuel de Falla, the Antonio Gades flamenco ballet and the beautiful voice of legendary Rocio Jurado. The ballet explodes onto the screen with blazing colors, a love quadrangle and ghost story featuring ravishing dancing and camera work.

The movie is free. There will be an open bar + sangria and tapas for this event which may be purchased through Brasil Cafe.

'Ole Flamenco' is a flamenco dance and music recital by students of Escuela Flamenca de Lucia.  Dancers will be performing traditional and exciting flamenco dances such as tangos, alegrias, solea por buleria and more. Most of the dances will be accompanied by professional live music featuring Valdemar Phoenix on guitar and Lucia Rodriguez-Sanchez on cante (vocals). Guest featured musicians are John Galindo on keyboard and Maria Alegre on violin. Choreography by Lucia and musical arrangements by Valdemar Phoenix.
