Summer 2023 Flamenco Guitar Workshop
Dates/Times: Saturdays June 10, 17, and 21 from 10-12noon.
Each session is 2 hours.
Full Tuition: $150.00 for all 6 sessions (via PayPal)
WHO: Beginning and intermediate students, advanced players, especially those with no accompaniment experience; classical guitarists also welcome.
IN-DEPTH and IN-PERSON
In Depth
This workshop will focus on flamenco guitar technique in selected palos (solea, tangos, buleria, etc) as well as focusing on how the flamenco guitar is used with the cante (song) and baile (dance). This workshop will connect the music and technique to the real art of flamenco - guitar, cante, and baile. We will focus on the Art of the Swing in flamenco. Starting with Soleares and Tango.
In Person
The workshop will be held in person at our studio. While students can certainly learn something about flamenco from zoom lessons or youtube videos, there is simply no substitute for in-person interaction with skilled instructors who can give accurate feedback. Val will handle the guitar and Lucia will be available for the cante and baile.
